#USIPPASSPORTTOPEACE
This winter United States Institute of Peace showcased their stunning venue, with multiple meeting spaces and reception rooms available to corporate & political events, just perfect for Inauguration 2017. The feel of the event was as sleek and modern as the venue itself, featuring approved caterers, photographers, lighting, design production, and entertainment companies.
Design Cuisine drew inspiration from the blizzard, opting for a Nordic “stem to leaf” sustainable menu, paired with a selection of alpine cheese fondues & traditional spreads with whole herb crisps. Living crudité, a “waste not” salad, and veggie noodle swirls delighted palates while saving pounds of “ugly vegetables” which may have otherwise been deemed not beautiful enough for retail from being wasted.
For dessert, a smashing good time was had as guests used wooden mallets to break large sheets of white chocolate bark to their desired tasting size. Baked Alaska Brownie bites, white chocolate rocky road squares, and a trio of mini pana cotta ice spheres rounded out the sweets display
.
Though the snowy white décor with natural wood décor & white lighted trees provided an immersive experience, it was the Ophelia cocktail served over frozen rosemary spheres that completed the display with an authentically chilly treat.
